A rotary file cabinet is an efficient, space-saving solution for storing documents, supplies, and other items. These double-sided revolving cabinets have four sides and rotate manually 360 degrees. Each rotary cabinet has four sides; two sides have a solid panel (when the cabinet is closed), and two are for storage (when the cabinet is open). The sides alternate between closed and open with each quarter turn of the cabinet. To rotate the cabinet, gently push on the cabinet's door or shelf, and the cabinet will rotate.

Layout Considerations: Letter-size (25" deep) cabinets require 6" between the cabinet and wall for rotation purposes, and 12" when installed back-to-back. Legal-size (31" deep) cabinets require 7" between the cabinet and wall for rotation purposes, and 14" when installed back-to-back.

  • The cabinet base is formed from 13-gauge steel with welded reinforcements and gussets. Each unit has four 11-gauge steel upright posts with dual PVC closing strips. The posts bolt directly to the base.
  • The rotary is fully supported by .625" diameter, hardened steel ball bearings. The rotor pivots on a .75" diameter pin with steel bushings. The rotary base does not require a foot pedal to rotate the cabinet.
  • Four adjustable leveling feet allow the leveling from the top of the base.
  • The outer side panels are formed from 20-gauge steel. The inner panels are 18-gauge and welded to the outer panel for structural integrity. A 13.5" high center panel bolts to the inner flange of the doors for additional cabinet strength. The cosmetic end panels are formed from 18-gauge cold-rolled steel.
  • The 20-gauge steel rotary top has a .75" diameter welded pivot pin. The 18-gauge canopy top fastens to each post.
  • Shelves (if applicable) are formed of 18-gauge steel with a 5.375" high integral backstop. Shelves are slotted on 1" centers to accept file dividers. Shelves fasten in place with self-tapping screws and are adjustable on .5" centers.
  • All drawers and roll-out frames (if applicable) have safety latches to secure them during rotation.
  • The lock assembly is located on the right front post. The lock bar is formed from .375" diameter steel rod. Locks can be installed on both sides of the unit upon request. The unit can be locked in the open or closed position.
